Vintage Cricket is proud to offer a great selection of cricket tours that could be of interest to cricketers everywhere-be they players, supporters, spectators, partners, wives or friends.

Vintage Cricket Tours are designed by cricketers, for cricketers and over 250 teams and 5,000 people from 18 countries have taken part in Vintage Tours or Carnivals.

Our new program has some exciting features including 3 great 2013 Investec Ashes Series options that will interest anyone looking for fun, friendship and great company on and off the cricket field.

October 2012: Tour of Argentina, Peru and Chile: Why not join a group of intrepid cricketers, their wives and supporters on a tour of South America which includes extensive sightseeing, great hospitality, 3 games in Argentina, 1 in Peru and 2 in Chile. The hosted tour is from 14th October to 2nd November 2012 so you need to get involved very soon. Players from New Zealand, Australia, Canada and England making up the team to date - just need 3 or 4 more to join us and our tour will be complete. October 2012: All Blacks Test and Great Golf in South Africa with Cricket Legend, Barry Richards: Watch the All Blacks v Springboks at Soweto Stadium before touring Cape Town and surrounds and playing on 6 world-class golf courses. 3rd to 18th October. Check out the details here  

July-August 2013: Ashes Tours to England, Ireland and Scotland: Three options for those who want to play some great cricket in the UK and Ireland and to enjoy watching Ashes Test Matches at legendary venues. There are three tours available all limited to 40 places so if you want to join one of the trips you will need to register and pay a deposit as soon as possible. The bookings are in place but the interest is high so 1st in, 1st served. And it is not compulsory to play any of the games!

Tour Number One:  8th July to 4th August. England and Ireland including Test matches tickets to the 1st Test at Trent Bridge and to the 2nd Test at Lords; in addition stay at Stratford-upon-Avon, Dublin, Kilkenny, Cork and Galway with a total of 5 matches on great fields and at great clubs for those who want to play. Limited to 40 people only. If you want to be part of this escorted tour and a good one it is, please follow this link and register your interest and we will forward details of the full itinerary and deposit requirements.

Tour Number Two: 14th July to 6th August. England including Test matches tickets to the 2nd Test at Lords and 3rd Test at Old Trafford; in addition stay at Stratford-upon-Avon, Brighton, Oxford and Oswestry with a total of 4 matches on great fields and at great clubs for those who want to play. Limited to 40 people only. If you want to be part of this escorted tour of some delightful parts of England and to attend two of the great Test venues, please follow this link and register your interest and we will forward details of the full itinerary and deposit requirements.

Tour Number Three: 4th August to 26th August. England and Scotland including Test matches tickets to the 4th Test at Chester-le-Street and 5th Test at The Oval; in additions visit Stratford-upon-Avon, Edinburgh and Norwich with a total of 3 games. Limited to 40 people only. These tours are unique and planned for maximum enjoyment and experience of cricket not only at major Test venues but in some of the delightful regions of Ireland, England and Scotland. With tickets in heavy demand you must take a full itinerary but you can be assured it will be well worthwhile whichever your selection.

Cricket Umpire Training will be held on Thursdays 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd of August, with an examination on the 30th August. The training will be held at Erina Leagues Club (18 Ilya Ave, Erina) in the Frank Edwards room starting at 7:00pm and finishing around 9:30pm. Cost of the course will be $15, which includes a “Laws of Cricket” handbook. The cafeteria is open for meals and drinks prior to the training course for those coming straight from work.

Please can all those people wishing to attend email or phone me by 4.00pm Tuesday 31 July to book their spots and so Don and Erina Leagues Club can plan accordingly. Payment can be made using one of the following options:

1.       Cheque to the CCCA either mailed in advance or on the first night;

2.       Cash on the first night;

3.       EFT to the CCCA (Account name Central Coast Cricket Association Inc. BSB 062544  Account No. 10640836.  Reference: Umpires Course)

The CCCA applauds the efforts by the CCCUA to provide training and we urge you to encourage your members to take advantage of the course whether or not they intend taking up umpiring. A knowledge of the laws of cricket is a big help to captains and players.

World Vintage Cricket

The 4th Trans-Tasman Cricket Carnival will take place in the beautiful coastal city of Port Macquarie, NSW from the 17th – 23rd March 2013. Port Macquarie, located 400km north of Sydney is a perfect fit to host the 2013 Carnival. Teams will have an opportunity to play on great pitches and grounds hosted by local cricket clubs and enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable cricketing and social programme.

With the Pacific Ocean, golden beaches, lush rainforests and abundant wildlife greater Port Macquarie will have something for everyone. Action on a high speed boat or 4WD tour; relax on a scenic river cruise; a spot of fishing; tee off on a spectacular course or shop the boutiques, galleries, museums art and crafts centres.

Carnival Packages have now been prepared and can be offered to all Vintage Cricket enthusiasts in Australia and New Zealand. Packages include a range of accommodation (share) options with prices from AU$875 per person (player) and AU$805 per person (non-player).

‘Vintage’ Cricket is open to players over the age of 35 whatever their agility, ability or experience. Teams are graded according to average age and self-assessed playing strength; full teams, part teams and individuals are welcomed.

Vintage Cricket can now offer through VSL Travel Ltd assistance with arranging air travel, insurances and additional transfers and tours including vehicle rentals. Let us know if we can help.

The Carnival is proudly supported by the Hastings River District Cricket Association and the Hastings Golden Oldies and Vintage Cricket Club. A maximum of 20 teams can enter, so register your interest now.
